“Joel Parsons: Wish You Were Here” will run at the Material gallery for one night only on Friday, June 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. The exhibit is organized by Lauren Kennedy ’08.

Parsons, who graduated from Rhodes in 2007, received the prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowship that allowed him to travel to Italy, Turkey, India, South Africa, and Peru in order to “explore the boundaries of a humanized activist aesthetic, one in which art serves as a means of developing relationships and acts as a bridge rather than a wall or soapbox…”
Although Parsons is still abroad, he will be in attendance at the show via a webcam. Material is located at 2553 Broad Avenue.
