Meet Our Counselors

Rob Dove, Director, has been a member of the Rhodes community since 1998.  His areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma and dissociative disorders.  He also provides couples and family counseling to Rhodes students.  Rob received his Masters in Social Work from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1993.  From 1997 – 2006, Rob served on the faculty of the University of Tennessee School of Social Work, where he taught classes on Individual and Group therapy.  At Rhodes, Rob has served as Co-Director of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), a national organization whose goal is to eliminate racism and all other forms of prejudice and discrimination.  He continues to serve as a facilitator for NCBI, leading workshops on prejudice reduction, conflict resolution and coalition building.

Pam Detrie, Associate Director, signed on with the Rhodes Counseling Center in May 2006 after serving at the Memphis Church Health Center for four years.  Her specializations include substance use issues, gender, body image and eating disorders, and sexual orientation.  She also coordinates Rhodes’ LGBTIQ Safe Zones program.  Pam received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Memphis.

Chenobia Webster, Assistant Director, also joined the Rhodes community in August 2006.  Chenobia is a licensed clinical social worker, and her specialties include anxiety and depression with an emphasis on individual and couple therapy, diversity, and developing outreach programming.  Chenobia obtained her Masters in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 2003.  She also works in private practice in the Midtown community.

The Counseling Center staff also includes interns and fellows from the University of Memphis and the University of Tennessee

Vangie Bryant serves as administrative assistant to the Counseling Center and the neighboring Moore Moore Health Center.
