Rhodes Community Mourns Death of Graves Leggett

Memphis and Shelby County join the Rhodes community in mourning the death of Graves Cavnar Leggett who served as co-trustee of the $75 million Paul Barret Jr. Testamentary Trust. The trust awarded funding to 96 nonprofit groups in Shelby County. At Rhodes the trust underwrote construction of the Paul Barret, Jr. Library.
“I considered him a dear friend and someone who made a difference for Rhodes College that will always be remembered,” said Rhodes president William E. Troutt.
Mr. Leggett, a Realtor, was a long-term business associate and friend of Mr. Barret. He leaves three children, Ruth Martin and Greg Leggett of Rosemark and Janis Kimbrough of Memphis.
