Astronomy Students Share Science Enthusiasm
Publication Date: 11/12/2007
“Planet Project,” a class assignment for students of physics professor Ann Viano, is providing exciting lessons in astronomy for some neighborhood students.
On Wednesday, Nov. 7, Rhodes students David Badham, Mark Young, Robert Shreve, and Robert Leonard taught students at Idlewild Elementary about the planets. Students also created mobiles of the solar system.
“I′m asking all of my students to go out into the community to share some science enthusiasm through astronomy,” says Viano. “So far they have gone very well.”
Other Planet Projects that have occurred this term have been at Cypress Middle and at Casa Maria (a church after-school program) with more projects scheduled at Springdale Elementary and Snowden schools.
